These terms

These terms apply when you use sortednews.app or the Sorted app ("Sorted"), run by Sorted News in India. By using Sorted you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use Sorted.

These terms are also available in Urdu. If the two versions differ, the English version applies.

What Sorted is

Sorted is a free news service. For each news event we read reports from many sources and write one short story in our own words, with every source credited and linked. Software, including AI, does much of the reading and writing. Our editorial standards explain how stories are checked and when a human editor reviews them.

Accuracy

We work hard to get every story right, and we correct mistakes in the open, as our corrections policy explains. But news changes fast and sources can be wrong. Stories are for general information only. They are not legal, medical, financial or other professional advice, and you should not rely on them alone for important decisions.

Our content and other people's

The stories, design and software of Sorted belong to Sorted News. You may read and share links to our stories, and quote short parts with credit to Sorted. You may not copy or republish whole stories, or collect them automatically, without our written permission.

Articles we link to belong to their publishers. When you follow a link, that publisher's own terms apply.

Using Sorted fairly

Please do not:

• send false or abusive reports, or put other people's personal details in a report;
• try to break, overload or get around the security of Sorted;
• use Sorted for anything unlawful.

We may block access for anyone who does.

No warranty

Sorted is provided "as is". We do not promise that it will always be available or free of errors. As far as the law allows, Sorted News is not liable for any loss that comes from using Sorted or relying on a story.

Changes

We may change Sorted or these terms. If we change the terms, we will post the new version here with a new effective date. Using Sorted after that means you accept the new terms.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of India.
